Enjoy first-run movies in an historic single-screen theater

Henn Theatre in historic downtown Murphy, NC

The Henn Theatre is a first-run movie theater with Dolby surround sound and a 24' movie screen. 174 comfortable seats with cupholders, air-conditioning and fresh concessions.

This is an historic theater that was started in 1934 by P. J. Henn and was managed by him and his daughter, Betsy Henn Bailey, for many years. It has been located in the same building since 1942.

Bill has been making a number of renovations to improve the quality of the movie going experience, but the theater still has an historic feel.

Many of us have been enjoying movies here for decades and hope to continue for decades to come.

Early in 2009, there was a fire at the theater, but the damage has been repaired and we're enjoying watching movies there, again.
