Go Boating

We like to take our inflatable Pontoon boat to Lake Hiawassee and paddle around the lake. It is very pleasant and the water is usually quite calm.

I like also to fish where the Hiawasse and Valley Rivers meet. It is a good way to relax.

Lastly the heritage walk is a great way to get back to nature and get exercise doing it.

So there is a few things to do in Murphy and it sure is a nice place to live.

Boating on Lake Hiwassee NEW

Hi Tom,

I agree with you. Lake Hiwassee is a real treasure for anyone who enjoys boating, fishing, camping, and swimming.

Thanks for adding your story.

The Murphy River Walk now goes all the way from Konehete Park (on the east side of downtown Murphy) to the railroad depot (on the west side). They're just starting a new "Confluence Loop" that will go along the river banks where the Valley and Hiwassee Rivers come together, just north of downtown.
