Comments Policy
This comments policy has been adopted in order to foster quality discussions here.Commenting, recommending, telling your stories, sharing your photos, reviewing, and interacting with each other are some of the best things about the Internet. Now that we are implementing submissions and comments on MurphyGold.com, it is time to let you know what we expect from you and what you can do to make sure your contribution is accepted and published on our site. We reserve the right to edit for readability, grammar, and wording, but will strive to retain the meaning of what you submit. If you use good grammar, capitalization, and proper sentence structure, it will reduce the changes we make to your contribution. Very poorly written comments will not be edited. They will be deleted. The decision to publish or delete is entirely at the discretion of John L. Dilbeck, the owner and publisher of MurphyGold.com. We welcome constructive comments!I want to thank everyone who does take the time to leave thoughtful, constructive comments that add to the topics at hand. Your contributions will help other people who read Murphy Gold. Now, for the details. Please read all of them before contributing to our site. 1. All submissions and comments must relate specifically to Murphy, NC. There are a few exceptions, however. We may ask for what you like to do in north Georgia, and places like Chattanooga and Asheville, all of which are easy drives from Murphy. Just as people like to visit or live in Murphy, we like to visit other places and tell about our experiences. These exceptions will be clearly labeled on the page. 2. You must sign your comment with your first and last name. Although the system I use to power this site says that you don't have to leave your name, I WILL NOT publish anonymous submissions and comments. That's final. All anonymous submissions and comments will be summarily deleted and you will not be contacted about it. 3. If you contribute a negative review or comment, in addition to submitting your full name, you must leave a phone number where I can contact you before accepting it. Add it at the start of your review or comment. I will not publish your phone number, but I will call you and verify that you actually had the experience, contacted the business owner, and attempted to resolve the problem. If you did that and still are not satisfied, I will publish your negative review, but read the rest of this policy, first. I will also contact the business owner and notify them of your negative review so they can comment, if they choose to do so. 4. MurphyGold.com is not the place to debate religion, politics, and other similarly contentious issues. There are plenty of other places to do that, if you desire. This is not one of them. 5. The purpose of comments on this site is to add to the discussion. I will not accept any one-line comments that say “good job” or “interesting reading” or anything similar. Either add to the discussion or don’t bother leaving a comment that I’m just going to delete. 6. All HTML, including links, is automatically stripped out. If you're just trying to get "link juice" to your site or offer, don't bother. However, if a link to another page may add value to our site and your comment, add the URL and I'll decide whether to activate it or delete it. 7. Mean spirited comments or comments that use foul language will be deleted without a second thought. Go pollute someone else’s sandbox. Not mine. I allow you to participate here, but I expect you to be civil and show good manners. You are free to disagree with me and others here, but you have to do it in a constructive and civil manner. Life is too short to deal with negative, ill-mannered people. This is not the place for diatribes and rants. There are plenty of other sites where you can skewer each other. MurphyGold.com is aimed at spreading the word about what's going on in Murphy, NC and what you and others are doing to make this a better place to live. If you don’t like how I manage my site, go play somewhere else. 8. This comments policy is subject to change at any time. John L. Dilbeck Owner and operator of MurphyGold.com
