1. November is here and some of our favorite holidays are right around the corner.

We still have some color on some of the trees, but the leaves are dropping fast. Fall will be heading into winter before we know it.

In just over a week, it will be Thanksgiving Day and I hope you'll be able to spend time with family and close friends.

I'm thankful to live in a town in the mountains where there is fresh air, beautiful scenery, great people, interesting traditions, and lots to do in the great outdoors.

We want to express how happy we are with the service we received from John and Jessica Poltrock in our recent purchase of a lot in Degatide Estates.

John made us feel as if we were his ONLY clients, or at least his most important ones.

His dedication and endless energy, his commitment to our best interest, and his willingness to help at ANY TIME OF DAY... (and we did bother him at some odd hours!)... is far above and beyond the level of service we are used to.

Sadly enough, we did contact other agents in the area for information before we found The Poltrock Team. Many never bothered to return our call. The ones that did reply only sent us information on listings way outside the parameters of our search. They hadn't heard a word we had said.

John and Jessica, however, have an uncanny knack of hearing between the lines, and were able to find EXACTLY what we were looking for. Funny thing about that is... we were somewhat undecided. I wanted mountain view, my wife wanted a creek. John showed us a lot with a high hill and possible seasonal view that ALSO has a beautiful creek.

Friday night, November 20, 2009, come celebrate The Murphy Hometown Christmas Celebration in downtown Murphy. It begins at 6 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009, with a tree-lighting ceremony and choirs. Shopping day will be Saturday, November 21, complete with Santa strolling around town and merchants offering incentives to shoppers such as sales, snacks, etc. For more information call Barbara Hughes. 828-837-6821.

Valley River Model Railroad Club Holiday Open House. Come see an operating model railroad and a historic photo gallery in the bright red Southern Caboose behind the Historic L&N Depot in downtown Murphy, NC. Admission: Free.
